Hi Besties. So in my last post, I asked for tyrosinase inhibitors and the responses were so beautiful, like I was so happy to like read every response and thank you so much for engaging.
So the answer to that question is if dark skin can use tyrosinase inhibitors like Kojic acid, Alpha arbutin, glycolic acid.
The answer is a big YES.
As a matter of fact, that Yes is in capital letters. Yes, dark skin, brown skin, as long as you are African, we are all people of colour and we can literally use any cosmetic ingredient termed safe. Cosmetic ingredients are not colour based. What they actually are for, they target specific skin concerns, skin conditions, and you know help you achieve your skin goals. So if someone asks if glycolic acid is a tyrosinase inhibitor.
Glycolic acid is not just an exfoliant, it is one of the best exfoliant and brightener you can use when you’re treating hyperpigmentation especially if you’re treating dark spots. We all know that dark spot is one form of hyperpigmentation that is very difficult to treat so once you have Glycolic acid in your routine, it makes your hyperpigmentation fades faster.
So Glycolic acid is one ingredient that you want to use when you’re treating hyperpigmentation.
